With Honor Congressional Fellowship 2027: Apply

The With Honor Congressional Fellowship offers experienced professionals a paid, one-year placement on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. The programme helps Fellows understand Congress, public policy, and bipartisan leadership through practical work in participating congressional offices.

However, selected participants will work full-time in person. In addition, they will join training, mentorship, and professional development activities throughout the fellowship year.

With Honor Congressional Fellowship 2027 Eligibility criteria

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

Have at least five years of professional or comparable substantive experience.
Hold a bachelor’s degree. Advanced degrees are welcome but not required.
Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident with permission to work in the United States.
Be ready to work full-time in Washington, D.C. for the fellowship period.
Show strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrate sound judgment, professional maturity, and the ability to manage several tasks.
Show commitment to bipartisan cooperation and public service.

In addition, Military or veteran experience is preferred but not required. Similarly, experience or interest in national security, public policy, government, or related areas can strengthen an application.

With Honor Congressional Fellowship 2027 responsibilities

Fellows may support a congressional office through:

Legislative and policy research.
Briefings, memos, and written materials.
Tracking bills, hearings, and policy updates.
Communications, constituent service, or policy projects.
Meetings, hearings, and congressional events.
Collaboration with staff and external stakeholders.

Also, Fellows must complete With Honor Institute orientation, training, programme activities, and regular check-ins.

Required orientation

Selected Fellows must attend an in-person orientation and training programme in Washington, D.C., from December 2 to 8, 2026.

Furthermore, the training will cover congressional operations, legislative procedure, policy strategy, and the daily realities of working on Capitol Hill. Therefore, applicants should ensure they can attend the full training period.

At least two references.
Details of prior work, internships, campaign service, or relationships with U.S. House or Senate offices.
