The University of Bristol’s Think Big Scholarships take money off tuition fees for international students starting in September 2027. Bristol has set aside up to £5 million for them. Nigerians are eligible, you do not need an offer to apply, and the deadline is 1 pm UK time on Friday 19 March 2027.
Quick facts
- Undergraduate: £6,500 or £13,000 a year, for up to four years.
- Postgraduate: £3,000, £6,500, £13,000 or £26,000 for the first year.
- Who: international students (overseas fee status) applying for an in-person course starting September 2027.
- Opened: 27 October 2026. Deadline: 1 pm UK time, 19 March 2027.
- Results: by May 2027.
What it pays
Think Big is a tuition fee discount, not a living allowance. It does not cover flights or living costs, so you will need other funding for those.
Eligibility: who can apply
- You are classed as an overseas (international) student for fee purposes. There is no country restriction.
- You have applied, or are applying, to an eligible in-person course at Bristol starting in September 2027: an undergraduate degree, a one-year taught master’s or a master’s by research.
- Online, distance-learning and part-time courses are not eligible.
- You do not need an offer before you apply for the scholarship.
How to apply
- Apply to Bristol for your course first (through UCAS for undergraduate, or Bristol’s own portal for postgraduate). You need the Student, UCAS or Kaplan ID from that application.
- Fill in the international scholarships form linked from the Think Big page, with the same details as your study application.
- Answer three questions, up to 1,000 characters each: your achievements beyond academics; how you would be an ambassador and what you would give back; and why Bristol fits your goals.
- Submit before 1 pm UK time on 19 March 2027. You cannot change answers after submitting.
No documents are uploaded with the form. Questions go to [email protected].
