SALTO PI Call for Experts 2026: Earn €1,250 Writing P² Dossiers on Democratic Participation (Remote)

Ephraim Akpan04 min read
SALTO PI Call for Experts 2026 for P2 Dossiers on democratic participation, paid remote work at 1,250 euros per sector, deadline November 6, 2026 Closes 6 Nov

Are you an expert in education, youth work or sport who can turn research into clear, practical guides? The SALTO Participation and Information Resource Centre (SALTO PI) is looking for 3 to 6 experts to write its new P² Dossiers on democratic participation. The work is fully remote, open to applicants anywhere in the world, and pays a fixed fee of €1,250 per sector (or €2,500 for two). Applications close on November 6, 2026, at 23:59 EET.

About SALTO PI and the P² Dossiers

SALTO PI is a resource centre that supports the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme and the European Solidarity Corps. It focuses on one of their key priorities: “Participation in Democratic Life, Common Values and Civic Engagement”.

The P² Dossiers will gather research, tools, networks and expertise that are currently scattered, and turn them into practical guides for each sector. National Agencies, project organisers and other stakeholders will use them directly in their work.

The Six Sectors

There will be one dossier for each sector. Each expert covers one or two sectors:

  • Higher Education
  • School Education
  • Vocational Education and Training (VET)
  • Adult Education
  • Youth
  • Sport

What You Will Produce

Each dossier is not a report, but two ready-to-use files:

  • Briefing File: 3–5 one-page summaries of key concepts or questions, plus the content for 1–3 infographics (data, sources, key messages and a brief for the designer)
  • Directory File: 3–5 practical tools and methods; an overview of 10–20 networks, organisations and experts; 3–10 annotated key publications; and, where evidence is thin, 1–3 short original commentaries

The work also includes desk research and mapping, a scoping note, consultation with 2–5 sector reviewers, and co-hosting two presentations of each dossier within six months of publication. SALTO PI handles proofreading, design and publishing.

Fee and Workload

  • €1,250 for one sector
  • €2,500 for two sectors
  • About 40–50 working hours per sector
  • Fully remote, in English

The fee is fixed, gross and all-inclusive. It is not part of the evaluation, so you do not compete on price. Since the fee is gross, check your own tax obligations.

Who Can Apply? Eligibility Requirements

  • Individual experts, analysts and practitioners, as well as companies and other organisations
  • No geographical limits, so applicants from Nigeria and across Africa can apply
  • You may apply on your own or through a university, organisation or company, but you must name the person who will do the work
  • Fluent English (C1 level or above)
  • Available during the kick-off week and the full working period

Strong candidates will show:

  • Deep knowledge of the chosen sector(s)
  • Familiarity with Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps
  • Experience turning research into clear, practical resources
  • A plus: links with European or national networks, and editorial, publishing or infographic experience

Timeline

  • November 6, 2026 (23:59 EET): Application deadline
  • November 9–13, 2026: Evaluation and notification
  • November 16–20, 2026: Kick-off week (indicative)
  • Mid-December 2026: First complete drafts
  • January 22, 2027: Final delivery
  • February 2027: Publication
  • Within six months after: Two presentations per sector

The schedule is tight. If you take on two sectors, plan for up to 100 hours of work between mid-November and January, including the holiday season.

How to Apply for the SALTO PI P² Dossiers Call for Experts

  1. Read the full call on the official SALTO PI Participation Pool page.
  2. Choose one or two sectors that match your expertise.
  3. Prepare your motivation, relevant experience, proposed topics for your sector(s), and a short writing sample.
  4. Complete the online application form in English before November 6, 2026, 23:59 EET.

Applications sent by other means, or late or incomplete applications, will not be considered. For questions, email [email protected] with the subject line “P2 Dossiers – Inquiry”.

Tips for a Strong Application

  • Pick the sector where you have the most proof: projects, publications or networks.
  • Make your writing sample clear and practical, like a one-page guide rather than an academic essay.
  • Mention any Erasmus+ or European Solidarity Corps projects you have worked on.
  • Propose specific, useful topics, for example “student councils that work” for school education.
