Eligibility note: BBC apprenticeships are only for people who have the right to work full-time in the UK and have normally lived in the UK continuously for at least three years before the start date. The BBC doesn’t sponsor visas for apprenticeships, and people on UK Student Visas are usually not eligible. Applicants living in Africa can’t apply. See the related opportunities open to Africans at the end.

The BBC has opened applications for its apprenticeships starting in September 2027. The BBC hires around 200 apprentices a year across journalism, production, engineering and operations, digital technology and data, and business. Apprentices are paid from £24,650 to £26,000 while they work towards a recognised qualification, which for some schemes is a full bachelor’s degree.

Applications close on 24 November 2026, although individual schemes may close earlier or later, so check each job advert.
