What Is the African Union CIEFFA Online Capacity Building Training Program?
The Online Capacity Building Training Program (OCBT) is a fully funded online initiative that helps Africans strengthen their digital literacy, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy skills. Since its launch in June 2023, the program has welcomed participants from across Africa and the diaspora. Every year, the training runs from September to November, with one cohort participating each month.
Under the theme “Africa Educates Her – Digital Skills for All: Bridging the Gender Gap in STEAM, Financial Literacy, and Entrepreneurship,” the program empowers women and men with the knowledge needed to thrive in today’s digital economy.
Training Structure
The OCBT is a one-month intensive online program divided into three learning modules.
Digital Literacy (2 Weeks)
Participants learn practical digital skills that improve productivity, employability, and innovation in today’s technology-driven world.
Entrepreneurship (1 Week)
The entrepreneurship module teaches participants how to develop business ideas, identify market opportunities, and build sustainable enterprises.
Financial Literacy (1 Week)
This module focuses on budgeting, saving, financial planning, and responsible money management to help participants make informed financial decisions.
Important: All participants must complete the three courses as part of the program.

Applicants must:
- Be of African descent, regardless of gender
- Hold African citizenship, whether living in Africa or abroad
- Show a genuine interest in learning digital skills, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy
- Demonstrate leadership potential and commitment to promoting girls’ and women’s education
- Have access to a reliable internet connection and a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or computer
- Understand one of the training languages: English, French, or Portuguese

Participants who attend at least 80% of each course will receive:
