Applications are open for Yale World Fellows 2027, a four-month residential leadership programme at Yale University. The programme welcomes outstanding leaders from around the world who want to grow, share ideas, and create positive change.

However, selected fellows will live and study at Yale from mid-August to mid-December 2027. They will join seminars, audit classes, mentor students, speak on campus, and connect with leaders from many countries.

The programme offers a full-time learning and leadership experience. As a result, fellows can step back from daily work, explore new ideas, and strengthen their professional direction.

Selected fellows receive:

Yale World Fellows 2027 Eligibility

Applicants should meet these core requirements:

  • Be a citizen of a country other than the United States.
  • Have about five to 25 years of professional experience.
  • Show significant achievement at a local, national, regional, or international level.
  • Speak English fluently.
  • Be available to live at Yale for the entire programme.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to public service and positive social impact.
  • Show strong leadership potential and integrity.
  • Think critically, creatively, strategically, and entrepreneurially.
  • Be ready to participate in a demanding full-time programme.

There is no official minimum or maximum age. However, the programme targets established professionals and emerging leaders. The average World Fellow is 39 years old. Full-time students and full-time academics cannot apply.

Yale World Fellows 2027 experience

The programme combines seminars, coaching, networking, and public engagement. First, fellows present their vision for building a better society. Then, they join discussions with distinguished guests and other fellows.

They can also:

  • Audit selected Yale courses.
  • Work on individual or group projects.
  • Conduct independent research.
  • Mentor Yale students.
  • Give talks and join panels.
  • Attend dinners and networking events.
  • Engage with faculty, students, and visiting leaders.

Because the programme runs full time, fellows must remain in New Haven and take part in activities during the day and several evenings each week.

The online application requires:

  • A résumé or CV of no more than three pages.
  • A personal statement of no more than 600 words.
  • Three recommendation letters.
  • A short video statement.
  • A $20 application fee.

You do not need a nomination to apply. Also, the programme does not accept self-nominations. Applicants can apply directly through the official application system.

Yale World Fellows 2027 Deadline

Submit the application by Wednesday, 2 December 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

The programme will send final decisions by the end of April. Recommendation letters should arrive by the application deadline, although late letters may receive limited consideration for a short period afterward.

The EBID Young Professionals Programme invites talented graduates from West Africa and the diaspora to begin a professional career with the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development.

The two-year programme offers rotational work across EBID departments. In addition, selected candidates will work under experienced staff and gain a broad understanding of the Bank’s operations.

EBID Young Professionals Programme benefits

The programme helps young graduates build professional experience in a multicultural financial institution. Therefore, it can suit candidates who want careers in banking, development finance, operations, law, technology, or public-sector work.

Selected professionals can receive:

  • A two-year fixed-term appointment.
  • Rotational assignments across different EBID departments.
  • Guidance from senior Bank staff.
  • Professional staff status during the appointment.
  • Conditions linked to EBID’s P1-1 grade and salary scale.
  • Post-adjustment, housing, and transport allowances.
  • A family grant where applicable.
  • Pension-scheme membership.
  • Insurance for death, disability, accidents, and sickness.
  • A possible open-ended appointment after successful probation.

The first six months serve as a probation period. After that, EBID may convert candidates with strong performance to permanent staff positions.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet these requirements:

  • Be a national of a West African country.
  • Be under 30 years old at the time of recruitment.
  • Hold a Master’s degree or an equivalent qualification.
  • Have a field related to EBID’s work.
  • Work well in a team and under pressure.
  • Show strong analytical and organisational skills.
  • Know how to plan and set priorities.
  • Have good research skills.
  • Use Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint confidently.
  • Speak English, French, or Portuguese fluently.
  • Have a working knowledge of at least one of the other two languages.

Relevant fields include finance, accounting, economics, business administration, law, engineering, information technology, human resources, audit, risk management, communication, marketing, infrastructure, and language services.

Young Professionals Programme selection

Shortlisted candidates will take written and oral tests at EBID headquarters in Lomé, Togo. The assessment may cover:

  • Technical knowledge.
  • Professional potential.
  • Personality and motivation.
  • Computer skills.
  • Written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to use at least two of EBID’s three working languages.

Because the programme serves a multicultural institution, applicants should prepare examples that show teamwork, flexibility, initiative, and professional judgment.

Programme Deadline
