NVIDIA Graduate Fellowship 2027: Win Up to $60,000 for Your PhD Research

The NVIDIA Graduate Fellowship 2027 offers doctoral researchers up to $60,000 to support research in accelerated computing. The award supports PhD students whose work connects with NVIDIA’s research areas, such as artificial intelligence, robotics, graphics, computing systems, healthcare, and quantum computing.

However, selected fellows must complete an in-person NVIDIA summer internship before the fellowship year begins. They will also work with NVIDIA researchers and present their work at GTC San Jose.

NVIDIA Graduate Fellowship 2027 benefits

The fellowship helps PhD researchers fund meaningful work while connecting with NVIDIA’s research community. In addition, it can help fellows gain industry experience and share their work with a global technology audience.

Selected fellows can receive:

  • Up to $60,000 in research funding.
  • Support for stipend, tuition, and compulsory university fees.
  • Collaboration opportunities with NVIDIA researchers and technology teams.
  • A required in-person summer internship at an eligible NVIDIA research location.
  • An opportunity to present research at GTC San Jose.
  • Experience in an international research and technology environment.
  • Professional connections with engineers, researchers, and other doctoral fellows.

Also, the university administers the award. As a result, NVIDIA pays the institution rather than the student directly. The award cannot exceed the student’s actual stipend, tuition, and mandatory fees.

The fellowship welcomes research that can influence the design, performance, or use of future GPUs. Applicants should clearly explain how their research relates to NVIDIA’s work.

Relevant areas include:

  • Generative AI, language models, speech, and neural architectures.
  • AI software platforms and parallel programming.
  • Autonomous vehicles and robotics.
  • Computer vision, computational imaging, and computer graphics.
  • Computer architecture, circuits, VLSI, and networking.
  • Healthcare, medical research, and life sciences.
  • Security, privacy, and quantum computing.

Therefore, a strong proposal should show both research quality and a clear connection to accelerated computing or NVIDIA technologies.

Graduate Fellowship 2027 application

Applicants must submit four main items:

  • A research proposal of up to two pages, plus a bibliography.
  • A current CV or résumé with contact details.
  • Two or three recommendation letters.
  • Confirmation that they can complete the required summer internship.

One recommendation must come from the applicant’s thesis adviser or professor. Applicants can request other letters from professors, former managers, or other professionals who know their work well.

In addititon, NVIDIA evaluates applications based on student quality, research quality, and relevance to its research domains. In particular, reviewers consider academic performance, research achievements, publications, the proposal, and recommendation letters.

Programme deadline

The application deadline is 30 October 2026. All recommendation letters must also arrive by this date.

Furthermore, NVIDIA will notify successful applicants on 15 January 2027. Applicants should submit only after the portal shows that every required recommendation letter is complete.
