The Halcyon Africa Accelerator 2027 supports impact-driven founders who are building scalable solutions for agriculture and food security. The programme helps startups strengthen their business model, increase their social impact, and connect with a global founder community.
Also, Halcyon accepts eligibility applications throughout the year. If your startup matches an upcoming fellowship, the organisation may invite you to complete a detailed second-round application.

Selected founders may receive:
- A stipend paid at different stages of the programme.

- Have reached at least the Minimum Viable Product stage.
- Work full-time on the venture.
- Offer a solution that supports one or more UN Sustainable Development Goals.
- Have users or paying customers.

Halcyon welcomes global applicants. However, location requirements can differ across programmes. Therefore, founders should review the details for the Africa-focused accelerator before applying.
What Halcyon looks for
Halcyon reviews ventures based on four main areas:
- Impact: The startup should create measurable and meaningful change.
- Scalability: The business should grow its revenue, reach, and impact without matching growth in costs.
- Innovation: The solution should provide a new or better way to solve an existing problem.
- Talent: The founder or team should show leadership, passion, and willingness to contribute to the cohort.
However, for agriculture and food-security ventures, strong applications may address problems such as food access, farm productivity, climate adaptation, supply chains, agricultural technology, or sustainable food systems.
How the selection process works

The application process has several stages:
- Submit the year-round eligibility form.
- Halcyon reviews your startup against its basic requirements.
- If your venture fits an upcoming programme, Halcyon invites you to a second-round application.
- Invited applicants complete the detailed form within two weeks.
- Finalists pitch to an external selection committee.
- Halcyon selects the final cohort.
Founders should submit only one eligibility form per venture. However, they can list more than one co-founder in the application.
Application Deadline: October 23rd, 2026
