WPS Civil Society Activation Initiative 2026, grants of up to US$3,000 for women, peace and security pilot projects in Southeast Asia, deadline 6 November 2026 Closes 6 Nov

Who can apply: This small grant is for individuals, groups and organisations in Southeast Asia: Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Vietnam. Applicants from Africa aren’t eligible. If you’re interested in women, peace and security work in Africa, see the related opportunities at the end of this article.

The AMPLIFY programme, run by The Asia Foundation with support from New Zealand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, has opened the WPS Civil Society Activation Initiative 2026. It offers grants of up to US$3,000 for pilot projects that advance Women, Peace and Security (WPS) in Southeast Asia. Applications close on 6 November 2026.

What Is Women, Peace and Security?

The Women, Peace and Security agenda began with UN Security Council Resolution 1325 in 2000. It recognises that conflict affects women and girls differently, and that women must take part in preventing conflict, building peace and recovering from crises. The agenda rests on four pillars: participation, protection, prevention, and relief and recovery.

The AMPLIFY initiative helps local civil society turn this agenda into action through small, practical pilot projects.

Benefits

  • Up to US$3,000 to develop and test a pilot initiative
  • Support for community-based and women-led action
  • A chance to build evidence for larger future funding
  • Connection to a regional WPS programme and its network

Eligibility

  • You’re an individual, group or organisation based in one of the eight eligible Southeast Asian countries.
  • Your project advances women, peace and security, for example through:
    • women’s participation in peacebuilding
    • preventing gender-based violence in conflict or crises
    • community dialogue
    • women’s roles in disaster and crisis response
  • Your project can be delivered as a small pilot within the project period.

Women’s groups, community-based initiatives and grassroots civil society actors are especially well suited.

Tips for a Strong Proposal

  • Keep it small and focused. US$3,000 suits a clear, testable pilot, not a large programme.
  • Explain the local problem and why women’s involvement matters to solving it.
  • Show what you’ll learn from the pilot and how it could grow.
  • Involve the community in designing and running the project.

How to Apply

  1. Read the full call for proposals on The Asia Foundation’s website.
  2. Complete the short registration form on AMPLIFY’s submission platform.
  3. Submit your proposal as instructed by 6 November 2026. Listings say proposals can also be emailed to [email protected] with the subject line given in the call.

Note: The Asia Foundation’s page blocked our checks, so these details come from published listings. Confirm the eligible countries, project dates and submission steps on the official call before applying.
