About the University of Lincoln
The University of Lincoln is a public university in the historic city of Lincoln, in the East Midlands of England. It’s known for practical, industry-focused courses in fields such as engineering, health, psychology, law, business, forensics and computing, with placements and real-world projects built into many programmes.
Benefits
- 50% off your tuition fees for one year. For a one-year master’s, that’s half the course fee. For a bachelor’s, it applies to one year only.
- Recognition as a Global Leaders scholar
- Study in the UK at a university with strong industry links
The scholarship doesn’t cover living costs, accommodation, flights or visa fees, so plan for the rest of your tuition and expenses, including the proof of funds needed for a UK student visa.
Eligibility
- You’re an international student paying overseas fees. Home-fee students aren’t eligible.
- You have an offer from Lincoln for a full-time undergraduate or taught postgraduate programme starting in 2026/27 or 2027/28.
- Undergraduate applicants: high school grades equivalent to 128 UCAS tariff points or above.
- Master’s applicants: an undergraduate degree equivalent to a UK 2:1 or higher. Lincoln’s country pages show the equivalent for Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya and other countries.
- You complete the separate Global Leaders Scholarship Application Form by the deadline.
If you’re still studying, you’ll need to send your most recent transcripts with your scholarship application.
How Winners Are Chosen
The scholarship is competitive. It goes to applicants who show the highest levels of academic, personal and extracurricular achievement in their application form. Lincoln aims to tell applicants the result within 10 working days of each round’s closing date.
Tips for a Strong Application
- Apply for your course early. You can’t apply for the scholarship without an offer.
- Show more than grades. Highlight leadership, volunteering, clubs, sports, awards or community projects.
- Explain your goals. Say how your Lincoln degree will help you lead change in your field or country.
- Don’t wait for the deadline. The January 2027 round closed early because of demand, so the September 2027 round could fill quickly too.
- Combine funding sources. Look for other scholarships to cover the remaining fees and living costs.
