Resilience Fellowship 2026 for East African Changemakers

Applications are now open for the Resilience Fellowship 2026. The programme supports young changemakers across East Africa who want to strengthen leadership skills, emotional wellbeing, and community resilience.

In addition, selected participants will receive a KES 40,000 stipend, covered travel, mentorship, and leadership training during the nine-month fellowship.

East African Resilience Fellowship Benefits

The fellowship gives participants access to personal growth opportunities, leadership support, and mental health training.

Selected fellows will receive:

  • KES 40,000 stipend
  • Covered travel expenses
  • Mental Health First Aid certification
  • Leadership and facilitation training
  • Project management skills
  • Eight months of mentorship
  • Community support networks
  • Personal wellbeing support

Furthermore, participants will attend a five-day residential programme focused on healing, leadership, and resilience.

Climate Leadership Fellowship Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be between 18 and 28 years old
  • Live in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, or Tanzania
  • Apply with a partner
  • Speak English fluently
  • Commit fully from July 2026 to March 2027
  • Show interest in climate justice and community resilience

In addition, organisers are looking for compassionate young leaders who can support others in their communities.

Youth Resilience Program Commitment

Selected fellows must participate in several activities throughout the programme.

Leadership and Facilitation Activities

       

Participants will:

  • Attend online Mental Health First Aid training
  • Join the five-day residential programme
  • Co-lead resilience circles in their communities
  • Facilitate weekly group sessions
  • Submit reports and feedback

Mentorship and Community Support

Fellows will also:

  • Join monthly community calls
  • Meet mentors every month
  • Support young people in resilience circles
  • Build stronger local support systems

East Africa Changemakers Fellowship Deadline
