What Is the International Geneva Peace Fellowship Programme?
The International Geneva Peace Fellowship Programme is a partnership between Interpeace and the Geneva Graduate Institute, with support from the Foundation for the Adaptation of International Geneva.
The programme aims to nurture the next generation of leaders in peacebuilding and humanitarian diplomacy. At a time when multilateral cooperation faces increasing challenges, the fellowship equips participants with practical skills, professional networks, and real-world experience that can drive meaningful change.
During the pilot phase, the programme will select 10 fellows for a nine-month residential experience in Geneva from September 2026 to June 2027.
In addition, fellows will gain access to research initiatives, field operations, policy discussions, and collaborative platforms within the International Geneva ecosystem.
International Geneva Peace Fellowship Programme Structure
The fellowship combines three key components that support professional growth and leadership development.
Residential Fellowship Experience in Geneva
Selected fellows will live at the historic Domaine Barton on the shores of Lake Geneva.
Throughout the programme, participants will engage in workshops, learning exchanges, institutional visits, and collaborative projects. Consequently, they will gain firsthand exposure to the work of organizations shaping global peace and humanitarian efforts.
Professional Placements and Institutional Partnerships
Fellows will work closely with leading organizations in peace and humanitarian diplomacy for nine months.

Faith-Based Diplomacy and Ecumenical Peacebuilding

Youth Leadership and Peacebuilding
The theme encourages meaningful youth participation in peace processes, civic engagement, conflict prevention, and humanitarian initiatives.

Who Can Apply for the International Geneva Peace Fellowship Programme?

Recent Graduates
Applicants with a master’s degree completed within the last 12 months, as well as advanced PhD candidates transitioning into policy and practice-oriented careers, may apply.
Junior Professionals
Candidates with one to four years of professional experience are eligible.
Mid-Career Professionals
Professionals with five to ten years of experience who seek leadership opportunities in peace and humanitarian fields can also apply.
