The Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development (CJID) is excited to introduce the Storytelling AI and Tech Accountability Reporting Fellowship — a transformative three-month fellowship aimed at equipping journalists in Nigeria with the tools, training, and support they need to critically investigate and report on artificial intelligence (AI) and its far-reaching impact on society.
Why This Fellowship Matters
In today’s digital age, AI is not just a buzzword — it is fundamentally reshaping the way we live, work, govern, and even tell stories. From algorithms that power social media to the automation of jobs and data-driven decision-making in healthcare, education, agriculture, and governance, the reach of AI is vast and growing.
Yet in Africa, many of AI’s implications remain underreported and poorly understood. That’s why this fellowship is so timely. It offers a unique opportunity for journalists to dive deep into the ethical, social, and economic consequences of AI, while also learning how to report these issues with depth, accuracy, and nuance.
