The World Federation of Societies of Anesthesiologists (WFSA) is offering scholarships for the World Congress of Anesthesiologists (WCA) 2026, thanks to generous support from partner organizations and individuals. This is a golden opportunity for early-career anesthesiologists from low- and middle-income countries to attend the world’s premier anesthesiology congress.
About the World Congress of Anaesthesiologists (WCA)
The 19th World Congress of Anaesthesiologists will be held in Marrakech, Morocco, from 15-19 April 2026. This global gathering of anaesthesiologists from 130+ countries will feature a rich scientific program with 20 focused tracks, covering sub-specialties in anaesthesiology and critical care. The congress will provide unparalleled opportunities for networking, learning, and professional growth.
What the Scholarship Covers
Successful applicants will receive:
✔ Round-trip travel to Marrakech, Morocco
✔ Visa application fees
✔ Accommodation (6 nights)
✔ Subsistence allowance
✔ Congress registration
✔ Workshop allowance
✔ Access to networking events
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be anaesthesiologists who completed their training within the last five years.
- Be members of the National Society of Anaesthesiologists.
- Be from a low- or middle-income country.
- Have a basic understanding of English for full participation.
- Be a first-time WFSA scholarship recipient.
Preference will be given to:
- Early-career anaesthesiologists.
- Applicants working in teaching hospitals.
- Those who have submitted an abstract for WCA2026.
Applicants are encouraged to present their scholarly projects at the congress. Abstracts must be submitted via the WCA website by 30 September 2025.

A panel of WFSA and sponsor representatives will evaluate all applications. Successful applicants will be notified by September 2025 and must confirm acceptance within five days or the scholarship will be awarded to the next eligible applicant.
