Applications are now open for the Master of Science in Health Professions Education (MSc-HPE) at the University of Global Health Equity (UGHE) in Rwanda. Through the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program 2026, passionate health professionals across Africa can pursue a fully funded master’s degree designed to elevate health professions education and leadership. This innovative program blends academic theory with practical application, empowering participants to lead education reform and improve healthcare systems across the continent.
The MSc-HPE equips health educators to design, deliver, and evaluate innovative health professions programs. Using a blended learning model, students engage in both online and in-person sessions that promote leadership, mentorship, and practical experience.
Program Highlights:
- Duration: 18 months (3 semesters)
- Credits: 180 credits
- Delivery Mode: Blended (Online + In-person)
- Scholarship: Fully funded through the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program
Graduates gain the confidence and skills to lead academic programs, contribute to global research, and influence health education policy.
Who Can Apply
Applicants must:
- Be 35 years or younger (exceptions for persons with disabilities).
- Hold citizenship, residency, or refugee status in an African country.
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field.
- Have teaching or educational leadership experience (preferred).
- Obtain an institutional endorsement letter if employed.
- Does not already hold a Master’s degree.
