LEO Foundation Dr Abildgaard Fellowships

The LEO Foundation Fellowships program supports promising emerging research leaders who aspire to establish or expand independent research groups in Denmark. Focusing on skin and skin diseases, the fellowship enables recipients to pursue groundbreaking and important research questions while receiving significant financial support.

Annually, grants totaling DKK 12 million are awarded over a five-year period, providing the resources and flexibility researchers need to make transformative impacts in dermatology and skin-related studies.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible applicants for the LEO Foundation Fellowships must:

  • Have 2–8 years of research experience post-PhD
  • Aim to establish or grow an independent research group
  • Focus on novel and impactful research in skin and skin diseases
  • Apply to a Danish institution

The program typically awards up to five fellowships each year, ensuring focused and personalized support for each recipient.

                   

Application Process

The fellowship is open through an annual competitive call. Applicants must follow these steps:

  2. Submit the fellowship application before the March 19, 2026 deadline.
  3. Ensure all supporting documents, including CVs and research proposals, are complete.
