Two-Part Application Process
Part 1: Apply through SOPHAS
First, applicants must submit an application to either the Master of Public Health (MPH) or the Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) program using the Schools of Public Health Application Service (SOPHAS).
This includes uploading all required supplemental materials:
- Academic transcripts
- Test scores (if required)
- Letters of recommendation
Next, applicants must complete the Fellowship Applicant Form, and their collaborating organization must submit the Collaborating Organization Form through InfoReady. Both forms must be submitted by December 1, 2025, without exception.
Key Program Details
To be considered for the Bloomberg Fellows Program, applicants must first be admitted to either the MPH or the DrPH program. These are separate application processes, so admission to one does not guarantee fellowship selection.
- MPH Fellows must begin the program in June 2026.
- DrPH Fellows must begin in August 2026.
- Prerequisite courses (for MPH fellows) must be completed before the start date. Note that the fellowship does not cover these.
- Applicants should choose either full-time or part-time MPH enrollment — not both.
- Fellowship applicants who are waitlisted or not admitted to the DrPH program will not be considered for the fellowship.
Fellowship Structure and Commitment
The Bloomberg Fellows Program is funded as a grant that may convert to a loan if the fellowship terms are not met. The loan interest rate will align with the Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan Program.
Fellows must sign an Agreement outlining the terms, repayment conditions, and service requirements. This agreement becomes effective only after acceptance into the MPH or DrPH program and selection as a Bloomberg Fellow.
