About the Amujae Initiative
More than a leadership program, the Amujae Initiative is a continent-wide movement. It brings together ambitious women leaders from politics, public service, and civil society who are ready to transform their countries and elevate other women along the way.
Each year, up to 15 exceptional African women join a life-changing leadership development experience, gaining direct mentorship from former Heads of State, top policymakers, and global experts. In addition, they become part of a lifelong sisterhood committed to advancing women’s leadership across Africa.
Eligibility Criteria: Who Can Apply?
To qualify for the Amujae Initiative, applicants must meet the following criteria:
1. Citizenship
- Must be a citizen of an African country.
2. Age & Background
- Women of all ages may apply, provided they demonstrate leadership experience at senior levels.
3. Leadership Experience
- Must have a proven track record of leadership in:
- Politics
- Public service
- Civil society
- International institutions
- Governance or community development
4. Professional Ambition
- Must be aiming for high-level public leadership, including:
- Senior appointed roles
- Elected office
- National or regional leadership positions
5. Commitment to Women’s Empowerment
- Demonstrates dedication to uplifting other women and improving community outcomes.
6. Values
- Shows integrity, ethical leadership, patriotism, and commitment to national progress.
7. Readiness
- Must be prepared to take bold leadership steps within the next five years.
Priority Regions for 2026
Women from underrepresented regions are strongly encouraged to apply, including:
- Central Africa
- Northern Africa
- Francophone and Lusophone countries
