The African Union Youth Startup Programme, in partnership with Afreximbank, is inviting young African innovators to showcase their solutions at the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF) 2025 in Algiers. This unique opportunity offers visibility, networking, and growth, fully funded for selected participants.

The AU Youth Startup Programme is a flagship initiative led by the African Union Commission. Its primary goal is to empower young African entrepreneurs by providing them with a platform to connect, learn, and scale their businesses across the continent. Not only does the programme support innovation, but it also aligns with the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) objectives, driving stronger trade and economic integration in Africa.

 Eligibility 

  • You must be between 18 and 35 years old at the time of application.
  • Applicants should be citizens of an AU member state or part of the African diaspora.
  • You must own or co-own a registered startup, or have a working prototype addressing challenges in health, education, or food security in Africa
  • You need to be available during the IATF 2025 event in Algiers.
  • Demonstrate a clear interest in innovation, sustainability, or economic development.

How to Apply

To maximize your chances, follow these steps carefully:

  1. Prepare Your Documents
    Firstly, gather a concise business summary (maximum 500 words), proof of company registration, a PowerPoint pitch deck or product visuals, and a compelling 2-minute video presentation about your startup.
  2. Complete the Application Form
    Next, fill out the official application form, ensuring all information is accurate and complete.
  3. Submit Before the Deadline
    Then, submit your application by 30 May 2025, 23:59 EAT. Late submissions will not be considered.
  4. Wait for Notification
    Finally, if your startup is selected, you will receive an email notification by 31 July 2025.

Note: Only one application per startup is allowed. All submissions must be in English or French.
